Funny quote of the day and a meme
Jun. 20th, 2008 12:13 pmFirst the quote:
-Eugene Robinson, "A Performance Worth Every Exclamation Point"
Gene doesn't stray from politics very often, but when he does, it's a hoot. (He's got an annual American Idol column, too.)
And now, a fun, nifty meme swiped from
bunnyjadwiga. Emphasis mine to prevent mistakes.
Just to make it interesting, I'm also excluding Eleanor of Aquitaine and anyone who was at the Seneca Falls Convention.
Now have at!
I'm not sure we've ever seen anyone "like" Tiger Woods. If he weren't such a charismatic and sympathetic figure, he'd be positively scary. I, for one, am relieved that he decided to devote his unimaginable focus and determination to golfing excellence and not to, say, world conquest.

Look at the comments to this post, and then post the name of a pre-1980 famous woman that could be seen as a heroine, that nobody's mentioned yet. Add a short (one sentence or so) description/why, if you like.
