The title of my LiveJournal is in Irish, and it means "Three speeches that are better than silence." There's also "Three silences that are better than speech," but I'm not what you'd call real quiet. Those three speeches, by the way, are ochán ríg do chath, sreth immais, and molad iar lúag. That is, inciting a king to battle, spreading knowledge, and praise after reward. The title of my Friends page is, in its entirety, "Trí búada téiti: ben cháem, ech maith, cú lúath." Three glories of a gathering: a beautiful wife, a good horse, a swift hound.
I'm currently an independent scholar. My current areas of interest include the law systems of the Celtic socieities of the British Isles (Irish, Manx, Briton, and Welsh) during the early middle ages (ca. 500-900) and Anglo Saxon society up to 1066.
