If I seem to have been on something of an emotional rollercoaster today, well, it's because I have been. On the up side, the job thing was way cool. On the down side my in laws and the Infamous Legal Thing reared extra ugly heads today. (And for my mother-in-law, that must have involved some serious work. Okay. Obligatory MIL shot taken and disposed of.)
Anyhow, in an attempt to leaven the mood before ending the day, pictures of the new kitchen!

This is the original stairwell, which the owner elected to leave in place. A very wise choice, I thought.

This is the view of the dining area from the kitchen. The brick panel on the left is actually a bricked up fireplace. The owner has asked for decorating suggestions, and the first one I'm going to make is a mantle for that fireplace. The lighting fixtures, by the way, are fluorescent, but the softest, warmest fluorescent light I've ever seen. And pretty, too.

And this is the beloved kitchen. *dreamy sigh* Just look at all that counter space. And the cabinets! We'll be able to actually keep our china and crystal in a place other than a bookshelf and a hall closet. Yes, those cabinets are maple. Yes, that countertop is granite. *wibble*
Hopefully we'll get back in there soon and we'll be able to take pictures of the second floor and the view from the rooftop deck. (Fourth of July at our house this year? You can see the harbor from our roof...)
