A Horrible Realization!
Feb. 7th, 2008 02:00 pmI have been completely remiss in my duties as the spreader of the word of Oregon Statehood Day, which is only a week off!
*starts digging around looking for blue and gold*
In the meantime, I leave you with the knowledge that Oregon's top ten commodities in 2005 were greenhouse and nursery products, cattle and calves, grass seed (all), milk, hay (all), wheat (all), potatoes (all), Christmas trees, onions (all) and pears (all).
( Click here to see the scintillating bar graph breaking the whole thing down. )
Did you also know that in 1938, archaeologist Luther Cressman found Oregon's oldest shoes, a pair of 9,000-year-old sagebrush and bark sandals, in Fort Rock Cave, located in central Oregon?
Finally, in exciting news, Oregon turns 150 next year! An event this big may call for a field trip.
*wonders if there are any Oregon-themed icons out there*
Edit: Ooh. This is just gorgeous. It's the Coquille River Lighthouse near Bandon, OR (Coos County).
