The theory is that you post it off the top of your head, more or less. Although given the room, you might want to double check the case's details before you post.

Dred Scott (v. Sanford) [I had to look that part up.]
In this decision, the Court declared that no African slave or African-slave-descended person could ever become a United States citizen. It also laid the formal groundwork for considering slaves property, rather than people, which could not be taken from its owner without due process.
