Y'know...

It really sucks when people delight in poking holes in my happiness.

Watch for a [Catholic/Religion] filter coming to an LJ near you. Yeesh.

Comment here if you'd like to be on it and can tell the difference between a post that elicits debate and a "hey lookit that, that's neat" post.

Bless you, pardon my snickering.

There has been a long line of bastards--both in the literal and pejorative senses--sitting in the Fisherman's chair.

This statement from this pope is especially pleasantly surprising, though, because when Benedict XVI was Cardinal Josef Ratzinger, he was head of the Inquisition Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and as conservative and reactionary as they come.

Ohh, now now. Let's not be hating on the literal bastards - it's not like they can help it...

Side note: that last comment did something weird. Let's try this again.

No, but the problem arises when they're the previous pope's bastard. And are running around making more. (The fifteenth, sixteenth, and seventeenth century Vatican could be quite the swinging place under the right pope.)

HA HA HA

Well, I'd still claim that the literal bastards were bad only when they became perjorative bastards. (So now I'm a Philistine pedant!)
