So, I've started packing/assembling The Bag.

It's amazing how many of the things that both ends of the spectrum (What to Expect... and The Girlfriends' Guide...) I still need access to every day.

Pack a portable CD player and speakers. You'd be amazed how damned quiet a maternity ward can be. Also extra pillows.

When I was in labor though, I didn't want Jon (or anyone who wasn't gonna get that **** kid out) to touch me. It's like the worst menstrual cramps of your life. Oh God.

Said portable CD player should not rely on anything to be plugged into a wall. Battery operated (or rechargeable) only.

Pillows should be in colorful pillowcases, or else the hospital staff will assume that it's one of theirs.
