Welcome to the House of Plague!
Jan. 2nd, 2008 05:36 pmSo,
torberg's throat was sore by about 10 PM last night.
He had fever, chills, and a cough when he woke up this morning.
We went to the doctor and (drum roll please)....
It's fledgling pneumonia! (His pulse was elevated, there was a spot on a lung x-ray, and his white count was elevated. The doctor said it's not quite pneumonia, but it could easily become so, and she's treating it as such.)
So, yeah. Stay away from our house for a while.

State of the Tummy
Feb. 16th, 2007 09:44 amI find myself in possession of my very own axis of evil: acid stomach, nausea, and heartburn. Three days this has been going on. I have ranged from mildly nauseous to projectile vomiting. (Blessedly, I've only experienced the latter once.)
Is there some bug going around that I should know about?
Probably not, I'm guessing. Which is why I'm off to see the gastroenterologist on Tuesday. I've been having relatively minor troubles for a few years, now, but I've never been knocked on my butt like this for days at a time. Bleah.

I feel a cold coming on.
This would not normally constitute a press release, but you must understand that I have the Immunity System of Iron where respiratory problems are concerned (lets hear it for the immunological boot camp that is teaching). If I'm woozy, sniffly, and sore-throated, you all may already be dead. (I've also been listening to the Nigel Planer-performed audiobook of Witches Abroad. You've been warned.)
Also, since I plan to ensconce myself in my comfy, warm bed with pizza and tea ("It'll put a chest on your chest." See? Told you.), I hereby throw my hat into the Five Things Meme Ring:
Post a topic, list, category, whatever, in my comments section. (Examples: "Five Phrases Batman Will Never Say", or "Five Jobs House Wishes He Had" or "Five Things Dean Will Never, Ever Tell Sam.") Then, in a separate post, I'll post the answers to your Top 5 ideas, according to me. Serious or fun!
What will I write? BtVS, AtS, Firefly, what little FH I'm qualified for, Deadlands (Hi, Drew!), House, Stargate SG-1, West Wing, CSI (just the original), and anything else you know I know.
In completely unrelated news, Tor and I helped cook a feast yesterday! It was tres yummy. Espcially the rice with beaten eggs and parmesan cheese mixed in. And the lemon chicken. And the cherry-cheese-custard pie. And yay Alina winning the A&S competition! *toss confetti* And we had really posh accomodations: the infirmary cabin, usually reserved for visiting royalty. (Unfortunately, the visiting royalty had to back out last minute. Something about his majesty having to work late on Friday and living in South Carolina. Gotta love the SCA.)
And now some clean jammies and my oh-so-comfy bed and my West Wing Season 2 DVDs are calling and some new pens and nice thick paper are calling.
