Keep caveat at the end of four and five in mind: time permitting
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me." Or something to that effect.
2. I will respond by asking you five questions of an intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal. My choice.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post. (time permitting)
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, ask them five questions (Time permitting)
I gave
tompurdue total access (well, as total as I get) and here are the results:
1. What is the best advice anybody ever gave you?
From my Dad, two things have tied for first. One, "Make sure you're running toward something, rather than just running away." Two, "In love, it's always your turn." I particularly like all the different philosophical facets the latter takes on when you play with the linguistics. Does that mean it's my turn? Cool! Oh, it's your turn? That's cool too, because I love you. It's the bedrock on which I've built my marriage.
2. At what age did you consider yourself ready for sex (as opposed to the age you actually did)? Were you right?
Twenty-three was the age I determined I was ready, and my age at my first time. I had finally owned up to and dealt with a Major Issue. And yeah, I was pretty much right. However, my choice of First Time was as clueless as me and we didn't exactly succeed, although I didn't know it until much later.
3. Do you vote straight tickets?
Nope. I actually strive for something resembling balance. I vote for people I admire, and if I can't find any of those, I'll vote for people who will at least keep the people in power honest.
4. How have you come to grips with the Problem of Evil?
Free will. The good we do would mean nothing without it, but oh, what a price we pay.
5. What's your favorite way to prepare artichokes?
A la Alton Brown: simple dip in simmering water with herbs and lemon, then served with butter. Mmmmm. I also like artichoke hearts on my pizza.
