Updates on what's going on here, here and here.
I've been reading up on what's going on and I have to say I have no sympathy for the protesters whatsoever. I really don't understand what they thought would come of the protests. They feel angry and betrayed because they were arrested for shutting down a major educational complex for nearly a week? Someone missed a memo here, and I don't think it was me. The administration has tried to negotiate, offering the students a voice on the board of trustees and giving them input on the hiring of the new provost. They should have taken it. Now all they have--and all they will ever have--for their trouble is their "badge of honor" booking numbers and a lack of education.
Really, it's getting harder and harder to not see the whole thing as one huge temper tantrum.
