Have you voted yet?

Are you still looking over your specimen ballot and wondering who half the people are?

Have no fear! The League of Women Voters is here to help.

Seriously. It's an invaluable, non-partisan resource. Don't cast a vote in ignorance. Educate yourself.

EDIT: Okay, the link leads to the MD chapter of LWV, but you can reach the national page from there, and from the national page you ought to be able to find your state.

EDIT 2: Swiped from [livejournal.com profile] commodorified's Friends List, and too funny not to share. "I think instead of 'I voted!' the little stickers should say 'I did my part to make the campaign ads STOP.'" -[livejournal.com profile] inlovewithnight

That guide was indeed invaluable. I had it in the booth with me as I voted. Unfortunately, the language on some of the parts (like the amendments) was still a bit too vauge for me; woulda been nice to have had somebody else rephrase some parts in ways I, the good-intentioned ill-informed, would understand. Still, an excellent resource, very glad I had it.

I Voted

I'm part of Jim Webb's 8,000 vote margin of victory. Of course, every other vote I cast was a loss (well, except for 2 of the bond measures)

Now we wait for the recount. This year, can we mock Allen like Gore was mocked 6 years ago?
