What Christmas Ornament Are You?

On a related note, has anyone else noticed a complete lack of non-tacky angel tree toppers? Because of the move, our tree is staying in its box this year, but before we knew we were moving, I was looking all over for a pretty, non-light-up, non-fiber-optic, non-raphaelite-knock-off angel tree topper. And it thoroughly eluded me. Well, not entirely. Hallmark has a nice one, but I don't know that I'm entirely ready to pay $48 for a Christmas decoration smaller than a tree.

Honestly, that's pretty much the price you'll pay at most stores.

Otherwise, make one by taking an old doll and stick wings on it. Seriously. It'll be unique, personalized to YOUR household. We used to have stars made out of cardboard egg-cartons, ornaments from baked dough, and popcorn strings for the longest time. We re-used the old things we'd made because of tradition, even when we could afford commercial stuff that might've looked nicer.

I guess we go straight for tacky, then. At various times we've used the Grinch, Death and Delirium. Also a Hello Kitty angel... we're all about the HK. :)
