Hey, need you to put your librarian hat on for a second.
In the school newspaper where I teach, the head librarian was quoted as saying that "books are obsolete nearly as soon as they come off the press."
Now, for certain topics, I can't disagree with that statement. Subjects such as law, certain sciences, and politics just move too quickly.
But am I right in thinking that such a broad, blanket statement is pretty damn disturbing coming out of a collegiate head librarian?
