The heck I go through for my career...
May. 8th, 2007 10:33 amJust as a sample of the inanities of the administration of academia, here is the re-statement of a course-evaluation commitee's assignment, by that same comittee. At least I think it is. The word "Assignment" is at the top of the page. However, this doesn't seem to be an assignment, per se. I'm not sure what the heck it is.
To maintain classroom autonomy and because the [mumble-mumble] committee has determined that all [mumble] sections require either a final exam or an analytical paper, which, when compiled together, encompass all of the outcomes, we have decided the following: We will assess [mumble-mumble] using the course-embedded papers and/or exams that require students to analyze historical periods..., themes, and/or literary devices...with research in rlation to cultural moments in [mumble-mumble-mumble]. That is, students will have to contextualize a text(s), examining its historical period, theme(s), and/or literary elements. This can be done through a single or multiple papers or an exam.
Huh what now?
*bang head*
(And WHY can I not indent a portion of the text without indenting the whole damn entry?! GAH!)
